Joined: March 2010 Posts: 486 Location: Suisun City, Ca | BTW, when removing the buttons, I noticed that if tension is still on string, you can't get the threads to engage until you loosen string, which allows the back button (on opposite face of the spindle) seat fully back into the gears. Is this normal? I've never done it before. | ||

Joined: March 2005 Posts: 12759 Location: Boise, Idaho | I think that's normal, if what you're describing is the same thing I experienced recently. I couldn't keep a string in tune and thought the gears were stripped, but found out the button was loose. With the tension off the string, I was able to push things back into place and tighten the button back down. Works fine, now. | ||
