I'll start with this one for two reasons:

1) It is the most eclectic of the ones I fell for. I would buy this in a heartbeat if I won the lottery or something....
2) No matter how many fine guitars I play, I'm still a sucker for roundbacks. Sue me.

Model 2000 by Bernard Lehmann, Rochester, NY, $10.7K

Certainly the most interesting round-back I’ve played. Ebony back and sides, spruce top, great tone for such a small body, and one of the more personable builders at the event.

“Motif” oval archtop by Bryant Trenier,Suffern, NY, $10K

Something about the simple elegance of this design grabbed my attention moreso than the many excellent and more ornate guitars at the show. This guitar was just beautiful to see, feel, and play. Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides.

Bouzouki by JoeMendel, Chesterfield, MO, $2.6K

I really want a bouzouki. Now I really want and expensive bouzouki. LOVE the back on this one! It’s made from a wood called Tsalam. The top is spruce. The sound is seriously fine.

Mandolin by Frank Finocchio, Easton, PA, $2.2K

I looked at quite a few mandos, but this one just struck me for some reason. I like the understated point and the striking binding. Good punch and easy to play. Frankly, it was worth more than he was asking. IMHO.

I would have loved to hear someone actually play this. It’s hugely impressive just looking at the thing. The workmanship was fantastic.

My favorite inlay, $17K

I loved the nautical motif of this guitar, but the builder was busy trying to actually sell something, so I couldn’t get any detailed info about it. The man does impressive work though, no doubt about it.
