I saw in a shop into a can of an OP-PRO-STUDIO, a thin black wire, attached by one end to the preamp, and the other end at the can : what is the function of this black wire?....maybe old threads, but I don't remember.....

This is to keep people from swapping Preamps on guitars in the music stores!

When the OP PRO models first came out there was a rash of people switching out OP 30's for OP 50's, OP PRO's, etc.

.....ahhhhh,thanks .., MWoody. I thought it was a ground cable. But ,if the cable breaks, what happens? an alarm is activated?

I would hope that upon sale the Salesperson would do an inspection and if the cable was broken they would check to see if everything was correct.

Filed under Old Resentful Memories: In 2003 at a local Music store I noted that the preamp on a 2003 Collector's had an OP30 in it and not the OP40. I pointed it out to the Store Manager. Their knowledge of their product was not what I would consider sufficient.
And for two years until it sold I continued to point it out every time I visited the store.

One of us had a problem that they weren't fixing...
