Location: ny | I just took out my bass (that I haven't played in years). It's a 5 string, model # CC275. I bought it new in 1994 and it's in perfect shape, not a ding or scratch anywhere. Not that I really want to sell it, but it seems that Ovation never really made too many of these. Is it worth much? (paid about $800 for it).
Anyone know the best strings to put on it? |

My Ebay observations:
Applause 4 string Acoustic Bass - $175-$225 with Gig Bag.
Celeb 4 string Acoustic Bass with case - $225-$320.
Celeb 5 string Acoustic Bass (3 in the last year) with case - $350-$425.
USA Made 4, 5 and fretless $400 and up.
We all know that it is WORTH more but the market is what it is. Keep it, play it or trade it! |

Location: ny | Thanks for the welcome and the observations MWoody, much appreciated. Probably will look for a trade at some point, but I'll try to hold on to it as my 2 year old was sitting right in my lap while i played it and he was getting into it! |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Although I upgraded to the USA model a year ago, the Celebrity Deluxe Bass I used to have performed better in all areas than ANY other acoustic bass that I had ever seen or played. With that said, when I first received my Elite Bass I was amazed at the quality they put into it. They are UN-BELIEVABLE!
By the way ... I sold the Celeb for $425 |
