Joined: December 2007 Posts: 96 Location: europe | hi folks, i bought a 1978 adamas I, which will be shipped from the shop to me around 12th march. the adamas was sold to me without case. so i am looking for an original brown deepbowl thermo hsc in nice condition, because i would like to have the guitar shipped in that case to avoid damage. anyone who would sell such a case to me. thks x brgds gerry | ||

Joined: December 2007 Posts: 96 Location: europe | ok - i live in europe but the guitarshop where i bought the adamas is located in usa and they will send the guitar to a friends address in new york where i will pick it up. so what i need is, a case from usa, i would pay it and ask you to send the case to the guitarshop in usa. like this i can solve the problem keeping the cost down and avoid to send an empty case from europe to usa. it is a adamas I from 1978, so a deep bowl non cutaway. i want a brown thermocase in good condition. thks x brgds gerry | ||

Joined: August 2004 Posts: 709 Location: Germany | Gerald, purchase one on ebay.com and let it ship to the guitar shop. Attention! Don't take an very early brown case ( like this ), your Adamas won't fit in as they don't have a cutaway for the knobs. But this one should work. Karl | ||

Joined: December 2007 Posts: 96 Location: europe | karl, the black case is a case for a cutaway, i think. did not expect so many things to look at. i have the ovation custom legend cutaway deep bowl from 82 which has a brown case. the vol/tone knob is also at the same place like the adamas has. | ||

Joined: August 2004 Posts: 709 Location: Germany | Yes, the early Adamas guitars came with the brown standard case of that era. The very early brown cases were for acoustics only (no cutout). They are also shorter. I'v got one and my Adamas I doesn't fit into this case. But it does into the later brown case. Karl | ||

Joined: March 2002 Posts: 14842 Location: NJ | If yer worried about the dual-knobs fitting, a couple of well-placed "taps" with a framing hammer will put the "indents" in the foam inside the case for it to fit. I've done it with my C-Balladeer when the volume knob went from the shoulder to the waist . . . | ||

And you want a brown period matching case. I recommend you scour ebay and craig's list, but you might not be able to find one in time. As a substitute one of the modern ones would work or a tribal planet gig bag case might work. Good luck. | ||
