These are not cracks (yet) and you can't feel them, but at the right angle, you can see them running from top to bottom on either side of the soundhole rosette and another one mid bridge down. In sunny CA where the humidity is never at the extremes for guitars, I didn't expect to have this kind of problem. Is this a normal phenomenon or should I be concerned? What could be done, if anything, to prevent further damage. Thanks.

Your guitar should have the A Bracing, and I would assume that that is what your seeing. If you can't feel them when you run your hand across the top, I would say there's nothing to worry about. May'be someone more experienced will chime in here.

I've heard some folks (like you) voice their concern when they hadn't experienced it before, but never heard of anyone for whom it became a problem. I once had an '82 Custom Legend 12 string where the bracing had "telegraphed" through like that. I called the service dept at Ovation and they reassured me there was nothing to worry about. Not something you want to hear your customer support representative say. ;-) "Yeah, I typed the command that you told me to, and now it's saying something about formatting /?!?!?!" "Uhh, my bad."

And old Raquel has become more refined... Like a classic car or an old guitar... [sounds like a line for a song...]
