Location: Huntington Beach, CA | How do you adjust a saddle unit that fits loosely in the bridge slot? I have the standard flat shims that go beneath the saddle unit but how do you tighten up the width of the slot itself? I need to prevent the saddle carriage from tilting when I tighten up the strings. Any suggestions? |

Either...
1) ..let it Tilt Forward to Nut
2) ..stick a fitting material ( cardboard/plastic) in between , in front / rear of saddle ...check Intonation !!
3) ..buy saddle , Cut to requirements
4) ..buy a Good guitar :)

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Straight Acoustic or Acoustic/electric?
If Acoustic... or A/E with thin-strip-type pick-up under the saddle...
Spend a coupla bucks and get another saddle that fits!
If Acoustic/Electric with the pick-up attached to the saddle, use some shim material (plastic credit/library card, or business card stock) to shim it from the side...
Then Order Another Saddle! (with appropriate pick-up)
Just trying to be helpful... |

Location: Huntington Beach, CA | Haven't ordered parts before or sent guitars in to Ovation. Who do I talk to there and how do I reach them? Meanwhile, I'll try to shim the sides. This is not a slimline saddle, it is A/E. I'd replace the whole unit if I could get one. Please let me know how to get in touch with Ovation (the right people, cut through red tape). Thanks. |
