I have and Acoustic Roundback Ovation Deluxe Balladeer and I know the fretboard is made out of Ebony. So I was wondering if there was a specific oil to use or if I could just use my Yamaha fretboard oil that I use for my electric guitar.

That should be fine. Mineral oil works fine. Just don't use anything with alcohol or acid in it. That will dry it out.

Just a thought, and someone could draw and quarter me for it, but I have a routine I try to go through at each string change.

After removing the old strings, I apply lemon oil to the fretboard and let it set for a few minutes. Then I rub each space with a clean paper towel. You'll be surprised how much gunge comes off on the towel. If it's been a while or on a new acquisition I repeat it several times. This keeps the wood in good condition and keeps it clean. Make sure you get all of the excess off with the paper towel.
