But the thing about electrics is they are so hot and have so much sustain that playing them is 50% about damping the strings. Much easier when you just need to lift a little pressure off your fretting hand. I play a version of Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah on electric with the capo on the second fret and lots of open strings...but that one is supposed to ring out. No "chunking" going on. Most of the time if I am using a capo its at church on my acoustic where a song is written in Eb and I capo on the third fret so I can use C shapes.

I came up with my own intro. I don't like it as much as Buckley's, but I wanted something different. I'll show it to you in FLA.

I saw him live several years ago, and he was great and all, but he never took that capo off of the neck not ONCE! I think he was going for that Slim Harpo thing, or something, because I've seen him on TV or YouTube and never used it. So, I thought it was just a passing fancy kinda thing.
