Location: Rhode Island		Is it the little black box between the tuner and the neck? Remove the black screw on the outside of the body to get access?

Location: Minden, Nebraska		It's in between the preamp and the neck, which I assume is what you mean. It's a locking screw. You have to reach inside the soundhole to grab the battery box, and it should drop into your hand when the screw is loosened. The screw shouldn't actually be easily removable, but hang loose on the bowl when you have unlocked the battery holder.

Putting it back is a little trickier but it gets easier with practice.
