Is the finish on a black VXT suppose to look this "rippley"?

I tried to get a photo of mine.... But it wouldn't come-out right.
But you can see vertical lines on mine too.
It is the wood-grain.
Mine is Teardrop Burst, but you can see lines if you look at it right.

That is normal since the finish is very thin. Black Gloss shows every little wave.
