Joined: July 2002 Posts: 288 Location: Maine | Hello Wayne. So on the photos there, is the neck mounting cover plate on the back unique in its shape or were the bass bodies made with the same one? Do you suppose it's us a bass neck made into a 6 stringer to keep the scale length correct, or does this one have a different bridge placement ? I don't actually have anything to compare it too. Joined: December 2001 Posts: 7222 Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Unique is the word. The 12th fret area is interesting as well. It looks like it's a custom all the way. The neck from the back looks like it "fits" the neck joint area so it may be the same size as the Typhoon neck, but frets, tuners of a 6-string. With the way they do/did frets wouldn't be all that hard for them to do. The bridge angled is likely just for intonation so again, the top would have been drilled that way instead of the normal way. I also have never seen a neck plate like that. I did have a bass in this body style. | ||

Joined: January 2002 Posts: 14127 Location: 6 String Ranch | Yeah, very cool guitar. Wasn't it Galvaston? It had the 6 string bass at the end. This was made for that. I suspect that the neck bolt plate is just different to be different. I don't call the scale length, but I think it was longer than the normal 25 1/2. | ||
