I've yet to figure out a setting on my Line 6 Flextone amp that sounds anywhere near as good. Anybody out there use this amp to plug their Ovation into? Care to share settings? Much thanks.

I'm not a sound engineer, and there's plenty of folks here who are, but I would imagine it's do mostly to the voicing of the speaker/cab or something to that affect. There's a killer Roland amp that Trader Jim is letting go in the For Sale section. I have 2 of those. My O sounds very sweet indeed through it.

Come to that I'd rather hear electric guitars played through real amps recorded via high-quality mikes, rather than amp modellers.

There are differences in acoustic and straight electric amps in tonal qualities, but, I agree with what Paul said, the best tone for an acoustic is with a good mike through a good system. The closest I've seen to a good reproduction of sound as far as a pickup system is with the B Band blend able dual source I had on the Larrivee, that Andrew has now, pumped through a good acoustic amp.

The line 6 flextone is a great amp, IMHO, for modeling an electric guitar. Some purists here will disagree, but, these things work. However, to me, it doesn't work with any acoustic guitar. For your acoustic try one of these amps: Hog 30 Fender Acoustisonic Genz Benz Shenendoh Jr. Yamaha PA or reference monitor or a Peavey

If that is not an option, the next best thing is an acoustic amp (I believe they have a broader frequency range). For screwing around at the house I use a Peavey Acoustic 212 controlled through my Zoom A2.1u Acoustic Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal. It has a lot of different modeled acoustic guitar sounds (including a dobro) and siulated hall sounds, if you like to experiment without doing a lot of tweeking. Of course there is a reason I play Ovations, and that is because I really like the Ovation/Adamas sound itself.

This is in a rehersal setting in which I just lug the amp and a couple guitars, but will take my P.A as well because of the displeasing tone I'm getting from my Legend, or should I say the amp. The strat sounds great of course. However I have been considering the Roland AC60 for awhile now and will check Trader Jims goods. Yes Damon67, I am who you think I am....I think :) At anyrate, it's good to be aboard gentlemen. Thanks for a warm welcome. And yes, I was pleased to find the name available.
