I recently picked up used Celebrity Deluxe with the OP24+ pre amp....
The electronics are OK however, the high E string is not as loud as other strings. It is a very noticeable difference and I will not use it in a performance. I've not removed the saddle to inspect the pick up but intend to do so... Any other ides would be appreciated. Thanks

Look to see if there are any shims under that saddle.
It is possible that there are, and that it is not correctly placed under the end of the E string.

The pickup and saddle are One Unit.
(If it is not, the pickup has been changed)
If you have a thin saddle the shim would be under the pick-up/saddle unit.

These will come apart, but try to avoid that.
There are no user-serviceable parts in there, but it will go back together.
There is also a wider saddle... It is also a one-piece unit.
Here is a video from Ovation...

When I removed the saddle the pickup came out in pieces...
see photo...Need to find out the order.....

at 3:45 into the video, it appears the copper shim is out of the holder, which would help determine the order....
Thanks...

My photo did not attach but there is a copper shim and the 6 magnets which are embedded in what looks to be silicone.......
A picture would have been easier....

If you have a piece that fell completely out, and is not attached to anything...
That would go under that copper thing that is attached to the wire.

Now...
I would think that the side with the 6 magnets (piezos) would go towards the copper piece that is attached to the wire... If not, it would go the other way... right?

[time passes... many minutes later...]

Okay... I just dissected a perfectly good CP-100 pickup.
Under the copper slab that is attached to the wire I can see a slab of silicone with 6 rectangular copper-colored thingies.. Those are the piezos.
I did not remove them from the silver housing because this pickup works, and I want it to continue to do so.

So, the side with the rectangular copper thingies goes under the copper slab, facing Up.

If all else fails, contact Ovation at askus@ovationguitars.com
or call 800-552-4681

There you can order a new CP-100 saddle... in White or Black.

Now that I helped you destroy your guitar pick-up...
Anything else that I can help you with?

Thanks for the reply... I have a message in the system, we'll see.... If I have to order a new one no problem...
Wish I could get you a picture......
Again, about 3:45 into the vid you sent me, a copper shim pops out of the assembly which indicates it goes on top.... strange.... Thanks again...
