I am restoring an Ovation Tornado, and I was wondering if anyone could provide some helpful hints as to how one gets the controls back into place in the body. The tone and volume controls are affixed to a metal bar and I am having trouble getting them back in the guitar.
Many Thanks,
Bill |

You can use an old guitar string or surgical tubing to pull the pots into place. you will have to find the right "path" because of the narrow innerds. Kudos to Mr. golf on teaching me that trick! http://www.stewmac.com/tsarchive/ts0094.html http://tvjones.com/wp/how-to-install-a-new-wiring-harness-and-tv-jones-pickups-into-a-gretsch-5129-guitar

Thanks for the links. I tried something similar with some success, but the rubber band thing may work better. I was wondering, is there a way to distinguish which pot is the tone and volume? I would hate to go through all this trouble and have them mixed up.
Again, thank you for the response.! |
