Hi all. I recieved an Applause AE128 for Fathers day (i didnt QUITE beg for it). A little background:
I always wanted to play just never pulled the trigger. Finally bought myself a Squier Tele and Line6 amp a few yrs back. Noodled around for a bit then let it collect dust.
Finally I asked and recieved (familiar theme?) Rocksmith game for my PC. Like GuitarHero but works with a real guitar. Teaches nothing about proper anything but....got me playing almost an hour a day, even though it is mostly hard/metal rock. After a couple months and having learned some songs and some chords I started looking up tabs for songs i like and had chords I could handle. Lo and behold most of my favs were better suited for acoustic. After a few more months of playing the Tele as clean possible I really started looking for acoustics on a budget. Loved the look and idea behind the Ovation designs since watching the Glen Campbell Show a million years ago. Did I mention I am in my 50's?

So now I have been playing the Applause for a month plus and loving it! I know it is not the best guitar but who cares? It sounds as good as I will sound at my level and I love the shallow body and thinnish neck. It allows me to switch between acoustic and my Tele without feeling like a huge box is under my arm!

I found your site when looking for more info on the Pro Elite 1868TX that I saw for $398 with a case on Hello Music. It looks so badass. Just couldnt tell if there were fret markers on the side of the neck. Prob wont do anyting anyhow. But GAS is a problem!
