Joined: January 2004 Posts: 799 Location: Athens, GA & Gnashville | I know it's been a while since I've checked in here, but being here gave me a permanent case of Ovation GAS!! J/K Actually, I've been dealing with continuing health issues and have been pretty miserable the last year or two. After my adrenal glands shut down, I was told I had Addison's disease. Putting me hydrocortisone and florinef (for life) should have remedied that situation. But...other hormones continued to go wack-o, testing way low or way high. 9 months later after a head MRI, I was diagnosed as having a pituitary tumor (microadenoma) growing into the bottom of my brain, which is too small right now to take out surgically. So, I'm biding my time, waiting for this AlLIEN to get large enough to....well, you get the idea. Could be a year, could be two. Now, I'm doing a lot of hormone replacement therapy and ALL I HAVE IS TIME!! LOL I have bought no new interesting guitars lately. I have been keeping up with with Ovation's output. I have to say, I arrived on the Ovation scene in the glory years. I'm hanging on to most of mine. I did give my Ovation Fan Club Blue Adamas to my first cuz in Nashville. He helped me out tremendously when I was going through my divorce, and wouldn't consider me paying him back in cash, but when he saw that guitar, I knew I had him! So it's his until he wants (if ever) to sell it to me. It wasn't my favorite sounding Adamas by a long stretch, so it all worked out. I am going to be liquidating a few mint or near mind Ovation rarities. The reason they as M or NM is that I never play them! Hence, thin the herd, probably to turn around and buy an old Ovation. It seems like a ways off, but in late 2014 or early 2015, I am moving back to Nashville. It is still where my friends are and where my heart is. And a lot of my older friends are dying off. I need to have one last beer with some of those guys. Anyway, it's good to be back. Keep your eye on the For Sale Room. Coming up, a MINT 1997 Collector's Parlor - NO dings, NO scratches, factory replacement electronics, plays like a dream. Buddy Blackmon | ||
