Tell me about it! I've had a DVD since Christmas of Merle Travis' son Thom Bresh demonstrating Merle's playing. So far, I have yet to nail the very first lick he is showing. I discovered, much to my chagrin, the tab isn't even close to what he's actually playing. A fact I intend to complain about to Homespun very soon. I've emailed Thom as well about it (since I've read he answers all email) and invited him to my home if he's ever in Ft. Worth, assured him of a good time while here, if he would prove his belief anybody can learn to play like Merle to me in person. So far he hasn't responded. Best I can do is relentlessly back up the DVD over and over to copy what he's doing. I've already created chatter in it on the first song. Sucks to be so slow on the uptake! | ||
