I won't post the link here, but there are chinese factories producing (at least visually) pretty good O knock offs. I'm curious if anyone has ever played one. I doubt I'd ever buy one, but I will say the idea of having an Elite or even an Adamas for around $300 USD is pretty appealing.

Just out of curiosity, i messaged one of the factories and they said they could produce an Al Di Meola signature knockoff for $320. While that sounds interesting, I'd never personally do it. That same factory sells a Martin D45 knock off for $250 that looks spot on. It's amazing what some of these overseas factories are churning out for next to nothing. I suppose from a purely business standpoint that's one benefit of having a factory full of slaves (basically).

Some of the other chinese knock offs are pretty awful looking (especially some of the Les Pauls), but hard to argue with the price. Of course, they probably sound like garbage.

I guess that's my point. A lot of these factories are using the same materials and building processes that the licensed factories use (for the offshore models anyway), they just don't have the 40% profit margin loaded into them like we have with USA MAP pricing.
