I noted on the Koa top models I've seen that the epaulets are one piece of wood and that's not nearly as pretty. I told Santa I would muck out all the reindeer stalls for a year if he would bring me a new Ovation Custom Elite LX. I don't think I've been good enough this year though. LOL. Maybe I should have offered to muck out the stalls for longer than a year. LOL  | ||

I'm having trouble figuing how to get the preamp open to change the battery, but the one in it is good for now, so I have some time. Has phosphor-bronze strings, which sound nice on it, but they're old... Joined: September 2006 Posts: 10777 Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Use something that doesn't have sharp edges to pry with... Prying from the same side as the release button. Once you get the preamp out, get a Phillips screwdriver and loosen the can a bit. Where the "toggles" are you will see some screw-head inside the can. Just a single turn or two. That should make the preamp pop-out easier. The can is probably deformed from being screwed-in to tight. If this causes a rattle, just tighten the screws up a teeny bit. Also... If you "preview" your posts they won't end-up a mile wide. And if they do, you have 5 minutes (or more) to edit. Pretty guitar!  | ||
