I know this is like PUAR, but we do live in the information age ...

I had to check some Ovation factoid so I went to their latest online newsletter within the Ovation website. The latest newsletter is introducing the 2005 Collectors Model. That's really sad.

Not saying MSDS, but we have a guy on staff making $11. an hour and one of his jobs is every Friday before he goes home he has to update some tidbit of campany news on our website. Doesn't matter what it is. If there's no news he asks me to make something up (and you know that I can make shit up that sounds pretty real). But the bottom line is that every week the content is refreshed. Maybe not accurate, but at least new.

Ah, this is stupid ... change subjects ... CLICK.

I was about to post exactly the same thing. The thought that I was thinking the same thing as you scares me.

Another point - when did they stop publishing Adamas prices? They are no longer on the Ovation price list and there doesn't seem to be an Adamas price list. It means I'm going to have to annoy al....

FWIW I get the Epiphone newsletter every week. And like dave says - they always find something new to waffle on about, even if it's just links to one of their artists doing something. I've had a couple of mailouts from Temp's online store in the last couple of weeks as well. But there again he's bigger than Fender...

What really tees me off about the website is that I've been here for 3 1/2 years and people were complaining about it when I arrived. Nothing changes. I'll bet you $50 that half the staff at Ovation have 15 year old kids who would come in on a Saturday morning once a week and set up a brilliant site and keep it that way. For peanuts.

How true. I forget why I went looking there.

Screenplay script from "Wizard Of Oz" final scene:

DOROTHY
Home! And this is my room -- and you're all here! And I'm not going to leave here ever, ever again, because I love you all! And -- Oh, Auntie Em -- there's no place like home!

(note - substitute 'Alpep' for 'Auntie Em')

I would think it should be important to get the attention of the 15-25 year old crowd so Ovation will have a new generation of devotees. Stuff online is what THEY pay attention to. Old farts like me in our 50's stop by from time to time, but kids LIVE on line.

I would pay some kid to come in every day after school and keep a great website going. Pay the kid WELL.

...and when the kids aren't on line, they're at Guitar Center. Ovation is not represented well in those places...either by the sales people or by what's hanging on the wall.

The next generation is gonna go elsewhere if Ovation doesn't give them something to pay attention to.
