That's an interesting looking beastie. Must have been ordered/owned by someone with fat fingers. stueym - 2012-11-26 2:10 PM I have to think this was a custom order for someone as it also has two neck straplok buttons, one in the normal place and another in the classic alternate location below the neck block in the cutaway. You can just see it in the picture. Kewl. I've done this to both of my cutaway Ovations. I thought I was the only one who did this. I guess not. Personally, I like this location much better as the Ovations feel very secure when playing and aren't constantly trying to slip out from under my right arm. The contour bowl Ovation is as secure as any flat-back guitar.
stueym - 2012-11-26 2:10 PM ...only issues are the strings seem dead despite being shiny... I've been experimenting with strings on my guitars and found that the larger body guitars, such wood dreadnoughts and deep and/or contour bowl Ovations with PB strings sound 'subdued', even when the strings are new. I restrun with 80/20s and they all sound much better. Interestingly, the medium-depth bowls sound better with the PBs. Dan
