Anyone have any experience with a soloette guitar?

Saw a guy demoing these and was pretty impressed. Especially the SongBird model.

It looks like something I could make out in my garage with a coat hanger, a canoe oar, and some string.

I've seen these and thought they were a bit pricey. Traveler is similar and I think Yamaha also makes a similar one. I haven't been traveling much the last couple months and quit looking at travel guitars.

I was mostly impressed with the "pickup-in-a-tube" thing that doubles as a bridge. Yes they are a bit overpriced.
