| Don't you hate it when you get something shipped to you and as you watch the tracking it just disappears for a while ? I've got that 12 string coming from Florida, and it is scheduled to be here Monday " by end of day ", and there hasn't been tracking update in about 4 days. It departed Sarasota that day. I would have expected it to hit California by now, if it's going to be on a local truck on Monday.
Since my wife and I both work, I need to figure out WHEN it shows up, if it shows before I get home. A web cam pointed at my porch would be good, with an e-mail when ever there is motion.

It could be riding around on a semi. The only way tracking works is when it is accepted/departs from a DC, other than the origination store. Once it gets to your local point of distribution, it will show up on your tracking radar. I would guess that would be Sunday, some time. All carriers are very efficient with transport.
Call the carrier and tell them to hold it and go pick it up from the DC, if it is in your town. That way you can tailor getting your guitar to your schedule. They will not give you a delivery time...regardless of who they is. |

Location: cincinnati, ohio | Did it go Smart Post? Smart Post is a wonderful thing. FedEx gets it to the post office in your town in 1 to 2 days. Then it takes 16 days to go down the block from your post office to your house... |

| AS far as I can tell, it's UPS all the way.
I thought about having it held at a distribution center, since I know there is a large building in my area where all the trucks get their stuff, but in the past, when I have searched for a place to tell it to drop it off, it says there aren't any in my area. I sent stuff from that location. I don't know why it can't be held there.

Location: Caribou, ME | I've had a few things coming parcel post with delivery confirmation that had no updates whatsoever except for being accepted at the originating post office. No updates until it was delivered. Ditto for stuff that went out from me. I was nervous because I sold an antique saddle and it disappeared as far as tracking goes. It wasn't until the buyer left me feedback on ebay that I had a clue it had even arrived.
One thing my cynical suspicious brain tells me is that if I do NOT put delivery confirmation on something, the likelihood of the buyer claiming they never got it increases tenfold. No way to prove I shipped it, now is there? The register receipt shows that "something": was shipped to a certain zip code on such and such a date but ebay doesn't recognize that as proof. When I spend the extra 85 cents for DC the packages always seem to make it there just fine... |

Location: NW Montucky | Smart Post sucks more than you know! I used to deliver for FedEx. There were times I would have 2 packages for the same customer; 1 regular, and 1 Smart Post. The customer lived "before" the Post Office along my route. I couldn't deliver the Smart Post package directly. I had to take it to the PO. Idiocy. I got written up a couple of times for delivering Smart Post packages directly by "accident." My customers liked me though!
