Not thin skinned at all, really. You can't tell the players without a program, and so far, no one has offered me one. It's not easy to tell being poked fun at from just being poked without local knowledge.

To be honest, after seeing the collections of really fancy and probably expensive guitars many of you have, and how MANY some of these things you guys have, I was starting to think this was a forum of rather rich guys and you DID want me to " get on with it ! " because my budget was pocket change to the masses.

If I was wrong and you are obsessed Ovation fans with no life and no money unless you sell of one of the herd, and have scars where one of your kidneys used to be because you believe in live organ donations, as long as there is good money in it and wait overnight at Guitar Center because you heard there was a 2 for 1 sale on D'Adarrio strings the next day, I might have a better feel for the crowd.

Since someone remarked that the thread was way off topic ...

I e-mailed the guy because he told me to make him and offer. He dropped from $850 to $800. I'll keep my eye on the listing. I have another fish on the line elsewhere for within my budget.

Not every Ovation obsessive has a basement full of 'O's.
I only have 2 ovations - which I'm perfectly happy with and have no desire to buy more. Unless its an Ovation acoustic bass and it's under $200.
I thought I 'needed' a VXT, but after borrowing one 6 months ago, I've played it twice, so it's dropped from 'necessary must-have' to 'desirable if under $200'.

Man, I needed a tissue after reading that.

That was uncalled for and mean spirited!

It was touching Bob. Don't let your inner male react so harshly to my response.

"Inner male?" Hey, there's also a little "outer male" in me somewhere....I just gotta find it.

You can't be too sensitive and stay on this board for long and most everyone crosses the line a bit in an attempt to have some fun. Anyone who is good at it should appreciate a good jab back. The tough part is figuring out sarcasm or clever bs when it is in print. It works better when delivered verbally.
Then of course there was Cliff, who was as subtle as a brick.

Not to mention, some of you have odd, rather quirky senses of humor

And some of you have no sense of humor, especially the English, who don't even know how to spell it.
