Great photos and beautiful guitars! That 87C looks brand new. My only question is how did you guys manage to stand sideways in the last photo?

Hi Moody, sorry, I can not translate well your sentence "My only question is how did you guys manage to stand sideways in the last photo?". Perhaps ask why the last picture is "horizontal"? I do not know, she came so.Now the story :maybe someone remembers, last year,I had won an auction Ebay, this Book-Elite.The seller then refused to send to me the guitar and said it was forbidden to send musical instrument in Italy (is not true).I had reported this on the forum .So this seller has sold the Book-Elite to our good Bernie (bburg).Bernie, knowing my unfortunate history of winning on Ebay, had offered to send me the guitar (if he had not liked)In the meantime, however, I had another unique opportunity n the "Mercatino Musicale", was on sale a '87 Collector (mint condition)just a few miles from my house.I could not miss this opportunity: I bought it. And when Bernie came on holiday in Italy,we had the opportunity to see us, we and our Ovation's .

Paul, forget standing together sideways. I was amazed that they got the RV to balance on it's front. The chairs and footstools are easy...fishing line.

Don't feel bad. Moody's humor is often lost on those of us who speak American as our primary language. I thought the sideways one was funny, though.
Somewhere on the old site there was a photo of my first OFC gathering, with my daughter playing her 87 Collector next to Miles playing his Book Elite.

I try again to posted photo.Ok, as you see,the photo is remains horizontal.Problems? Nooooooo. But what I wanted to communicate to you :But what I wanted to tell you was this: is this a good story?how many possibilities there were Bernie and I meet together? ... almost no.Yet we met. Is this is the important thing.

Ovation Fan gatherings are almost always a good thing. What would be really interesting is if all the owners of OFC guitars could get together for a gathering. I've met most of them, but never with more than two of the OFC guitars together.

That stand looks very similar to one that Hercules makes...the acoustic version.

Great photos, gorgeous guitars. Ha! The sideways photo looks like a Photo Shop trick, with Bernie wearing an History of Ovation tee shirt with "tease the eye trickery" of sorts with his hand holding the book... Have fun!

What camera was used for this image?  I'm curious.

Willa

Titti, Bernie, I greet your meeting. It's always nice to know in person a OFCer and exchange opinions without the filter of the computer ..... see you later....

To conclude this post, I add a couple of pictures I took yesterday with Bernie and Dieter. In their trip to Italy they came in Tuscany and stayed in a camping 20 km from my house. Despite many commitments for the weekend it was a unique opportunity to meet.
The weather was not the best unfortunately and we were forced to stay in the caravan (very nice and comfortable I should say). I had the pleasure to meet in person Bernie and to know his friend Dieter (another Ovation enthusiast !). It was great !!
The time has flown among tales of guitars and some playing. I was very happy to try the book elite Bernie was carrying with him in this journey. A very nice guitar with a great sound. It was love at the first strummmm.....
Thank you guys for having me there and best wishes for your journey back home !!
I do hope we can arrange another European gathering at the soonest (the first one was organized by Jerome and the German OFCers few years back).
PS : I'm the one with the black elite GC178LX. I have to say I'm in third place also for the amount of hair .... but I'm more trendy, right ?

OFC gatherings are always a good event. Haven't heard of a bad one yet. Lots of good stories, trips to the hospital (what happens in the Smokie Mountains, stays in the Smokie Mountains) and great times.
