I wanted to share my newest song-writing effort called Sail the Waves. It's taken nearly a month to get it to this point, and I hope to add some harmonies and maybe another instrument or two down the road.

I can honestly say it's the first song that ever took me three states to write. I got the original idea in Behtlehem, PA; fleshed it out a bit in Poughkeepsie, NY; finished the rough draft in Roanoke, VA; and finalized the lyrics and melody in Poughkeepsie again.

It is a piece of music about standing your ground and having faith. I was shooting for a good blend of Celtic and Christian genres and am generally pleased with the results. (NOTE: I'll say again that the song has Christian themes, don't listen if you're not into such things. Miles, if you think it's better posted in the P&W Section, please move the thread. I was just hoping to maximise feedback posting it here.)

I hope you all like it. Let me know what you think.

Good job, 1st chance I have taken to check out your songs...you can see the development over just a couple of years...now, we are seeing the instrument supporting your voice v. what is often the instrument as the primary. Reminds me of the St. Louis Jesuits. Music that we (the Jolly Troubadors) performed a lot in the early '80's.

Patch, what a beautiful song you have here. I really love the vibrato voice you have, which allows the lyrics to come out strong and pure. I liked it so much I shared it on my fb page for my friends and fans to enjoy as much as I did. Just Beatutiful!!!!
