Got my new guitar today, it's the 199.00 Celebrity from Musicans Friend

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/ovation-celebrity-gc057m-mid...

First thing I did is adjust the action and remove the shims and do a small neck adjustment. Action is just like I want it.. plays great, good intonation.... but in the process apparently i kinked the metal strip on the pick up so the result is the EAD strings sound out and the GBE strings barely can be heard so I need a new pick up. How do I go about getting a new pick up? I checked the bay and all I see are preamp and pickup sets.

Thanks for the help...

Corey

I did it in January. Go have your local O dealer order you a p/u for it. They don't cost much. Have them put it in. OP4BT preamps are not easy to put back in.

I decided to change the strings on the Celebrity tonight cause I hate what it came with. So I took all the strings off and while I had the strings off I took out the bridge and the pickup looked like it wasn't seated right so I took the pickup out and fixed it in the saddle and put the new strings on. After putting the new strings it was evident that the action was also a tad lower... a smidgeon too low.. so i did a little micro adjustment of the neck and plays eve better yet. I was pretty sure the pickup was going to be fine as the tuner worked flawlessly and was spot on. Plugged it in... it's fine.. I am very happy. Unbelievably nice guitar for 199.00 It's been a long time since I have had an Ovation. I plugged it into my Blues Jr..... it doesn't sound to bad to my ear but I am going to get an Acoustic AG30 I believe at the end of the month! Happy Ending as they say I don't think it will be long before I am gassin for one of them their higher end models.. but I will enjoy this one for a bit!
