I've been chugging away with my 17in Powerbook G4 1.67 for way too long. Now too many things don't work with it, so it was time to make a change. Since it's coinciding with my final car payment, I decided to go all out and just replace that car payment with a computer payment for the next 12 months. What I really wanted was something that could handle multiple tracks, each with various effects, yadda yadda going in Logic Studio. A computer that could take advantage of Logic's hyperthreading and multi-core capabilities. I did it. I took the big jump. I have a computer payment now. With dual 2.4 quad core Xeon "Westmere" processors, Logic performs flawlessly. No more latency issues, no more turning off tracks and effects just to get things to run without hiccups. Oh, and threw the new iPad "Retina Display" thing on there too. Fun new exciting technologies, I'm so excited! I can't wait to see toys I'll need to buy to use that thing with. The Mackie mixer looks pretty cool, and Behringer has a couple offerings out too. Expect to hear some new recordings soon.
