Just wondering if anyone has heard from ks? He gave me advice when I was doing my neck reset but I have not seen him post in a while.

If I recall correctly, he suffered a personal loss lately, and might be taking a break to address higher priorities.

Yes he did have a tragic loss. He's a good guy and I hope all is well.

I'm still around. I went on a wild selling spree and sold off about 15 or 17 guitars... with more going away, either already on ebay or on the 'you're outta here' list (lost count). I dunno, I was mad at myself, mad at the world, mad because I had too many "things" and no wife. I can't explain it. A lot goes through your head at a time like this and not much of it positive.

I haven't sold off any Applauses or Academys yet, and may not, but I did sell all 'real' Ovations except for the '83 Collectors prototype. I sold off some guitars that I haven't used ever, but kept for bragging rights, which isn't worth a pound of smoke.

I'm even selling the Gibson they gave me at the factory. I never liked it, so why keep it?

However I did splurge and buy another J-200 last week. A blonde to offset my sunburst. Two J-200s in the same living room. Mid life crisis or what? Cheaper than a Miata I suppose.

Shiny bowl #093 got a good home, that's important.

I haven't posted lately because I really haven't had much to contribute to the Common Good. I'm still here though.

I thought I'd drop by and give an update.

Selling my house to my oldest daughter. I paid $13000 for it in 1983 and it's been good. Time to move on. I bought a 1963 (time capsule) 3 bedroom ranch on 3 acres in the country, with 2 car garage, semi finished basement, semi finished over the garage, etc. $70,000. All the woodwork is varnished, it has funky 50s wood shelves and cupboards, white countertop with gold speckles and rugs from the Brady Bunch. It looks like the Jetsons house and the Ponderosa had a love child.

I went through a horrible, turbulent relationship with one of Tammie's (my late wife) best friends. It was abuse, plain and simple. I don't want to think about it. I met a local girl online, which led to facebook, which led to coffee.... we met online in late September, we met face to face on November 14th, we became a couple on December 9th, I proposed on January 10th, and we got married on April 21st. She is absolutely my soulmate. She is just as odd as me, she has a dirty, sick sense of humor, she laughs at my farts, she loves junk food, but yet she's also very quiet and reserved in public. She is a supervisor with the Department of Health and Human Services, makes just a tad more than I do, isn't crazy, is affectionate to the point of asking myself "How did I ever get so lucky?" and for reasons known only to her and God, she thinks the sun shines out of my butt. Here we are on April 21, being married by her son, who became an ordained minister (online) just for the occasion! (Yes, it was all legal).

And here's our newly formed family, with Penny's two kids on the left, Penny, me, and my two daughters Kim and Sarah (the k and s in ksdaddy):

We have a very quiet existence and like it. We watch American Idol, Auction Hunters, Storage Wars, and I just bought the complete DVDs of Drawn Together and Twin Peaks. We kick back on the couch and eat frozen yogurt.

After 15-1/2 years, my Golden Retriever, Buddy, had a series of seizures resulting in brain damage. He ended up being completely catatonic with no chance of recovery. I had him put down in October. On December 24th we got an 8 week old Golden named Maggie May. She's my baby.

I decided to treat myself. I now have a 2000 Sportster with 7700 miles on it. $2500 cash.

As to guitars, I haven't done much in the past several months. I've still in transition to the new house and haven't set up my new shop, so no repairs are taking place. I'm not that interested in it anymore anyway. It may come back, who knows? I'm still picking up Applauses and I think I'm at 15 or 16 or so. The only O I kept was the prototype of the '83 Collector's. The rest went away.

I went into the hospital in early April for a Supraventricular Ablation. They didn't find what they were looking for but I went into A-Fib while I was on the table and they FINALLY got to see what I've been telling them for 30 years! So they doubled my beta blockers and added Flecainide and I feel fine.

I think that's about it!

Thanks for the update. Nice family photo and a good choice on the bike for running around town and just making you feel good when you need some outdoor rush of air and the unmistakable sound and feel of an unbalanced V-Twin thumping between your knees.

Congratulations on all the good news. Sorry about the bad. I'm sharing your pain with the old dog. Just a couple hours ago we put down our 15 1/2 year old Springer Spaniel. I had kidney stone surgery this morning and couldn't drag myself to the vet. If I had, I might have asked him to put me down as well. I've had a broken arm set without a painkiller and this is worse (but memories, especially of painful events, fade).
