Joined: July 2009 Posts: 7 Location: se florida | Selling my Vintage Ovation. This guitar has serial number 1004 in red lettering which dates it to around 1967 or earlier. The Ovation crowd will know more than I do. It has the first rope decor around the sound hole.It has the deep shiny bowl. It is in mint condition with no issues, no marks, mint and clean. The case is . pristine! I'm sure it will be hard to find a very early Ovation in this wonderful condition. I am the second owner of this beauty. Ovation collectors may like this beauty to add to their collection. Please ask questions if interested! I can arrange more images if interested. By the way...I do not know if this is a fair price or if it's too low. Would someone in the group give me an idea of fair value . I believe I have this guitar posted here years ago with images. see craigslist ad with images https://post.craigslist.org/manage/2958059866 Edited by parrotfish44 2012-04-28 7:20 AM

It in fact does look faded....the Balladeer shows up ok, but the Ovation logo is faded as shown url https://post.craigslist.org/manage/2958059866 pm me with offers if interested

Is that normal ? ...... Is it a prerogative of the Balladeer model to have a full mahogany neck ? I own a Deluxe Balladeer and it has a 5 pieces neck to it.

I think it was Geostorm that once shared that since these necks were hand carved, that the thickness was very inconsistent. My 40th, on the other hand, although a RI, has the 5 piece neck.

My guitar for example (No. 245 of 1967) has a book-matched top (2 pieces instead of 3) and the 5 pieces neck .......
