Hi Folks,

My new CC-057, which was actually sitting around in a shop's back room for years and only recently sold after they put it on eBay, has the interesting issue of what appears to be a loose clamp for its pickup wires (see attached picture, if I post this correctly).

I'm curious where I should remount this wire clip, essentially - likely on the bowl, but I'm not sure if a specific location is considered ideal to ensure the wires don't hit the interior, etc.

Ideas welcome.

Location: Route 66, just east of the Cadillac Ranch		Have you tried taking a flashlight and small mirror and looking for any residue from the sticky-back foam tape?

Location: Northwest Arkansas		It's on the bottom center of the bowl. Right behind the soundhole where it can't be seen. I just sold one. It's like that on my GC 057 also.

Location: NY		Nick B.: Yes, I tried looking and didn't see an obvious point of prior adhesion on the bowl.

mymartind35: there's actually a slightly raised circle in the spot you've described, so I'm guessing that's the place.

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR		Just stick it onto the bowl...
I would recommend near the side/rim/binding/whatever, out of sight.
But somewhere that is still within easy reach.
That is easiest right now, plus easy later in the event you are repairing something.
Use double-sided tape, or get a new sticky-thingy.
You can find them at Radio Shack or the Dollar Store...
They are usually used for sticking computer cables to the floor or wall.

Old Man Arthur: you know, I was thinking that double-sided tape might be best . . . as I went along and used a water-resistant, general purpose Loctite glue .

  In the back of my head, I was thinking that this is just a clip for organizing the wires, so kept it accessible but fully out of sight, as you suggested.

  At least this repair was a good excuse to remove factory-installed shims from under the pickup - the action is great with no added buzz when playing on the top frets. Still trying to decide if I like my new Cleartone Phosphor Bronze strings on this shallow bowl, though . . .

Location: Northwest Arkansas		I bought a CC026 Tuesday night and guess what? It needed to be stuck back just like yours. I haven't done it yet, but I thought it was kind of ironic.

FWIW, the Loctite household glue worked well, though the smell lingered for a few days because I kept it in the case before the glue fully cured (duh).
