Miles has four PF-22's, and four PF-22 basses, some of which are for sale.

Those are cool, even if I haven't tried one, if for nothing more than the name and story behind them.

I'm going to visit Chip Todd in November at his place outside of Austin. Miles, do you know Chip?

Chip designed the T-60, and dreamed up/implemented the CNC manufacturing stuff for the necks and such.

Anyway, we were just having a discussion about Ovations, and I found out something I didn't know about him and the big O.

From Chip:

"Ovation gave me a "Deacon" when I became a warranty center for them, in Houston. I was also a warranty center for Fender, Gibson, Alvarez, and a couple of others, but I loved that Deacon. When I hooked up with Peavey, I felt that I should return the "Deacon" as a matter of ethics. Of course, I've regretted it many times."

That from a man that knows his guitars for sure!

I just read a story that the hardbodies were in part a response to Hartley's getting into the guitar biz and the the "PF" stood for...

Peavey F'er?

I was just wondering if there's any truth to the story.

BTW, the config on those, and the style is very similar to that DC400 I just got. Cept for the bridge.
