| Just got home with a new Pacemaker I found on Kijiji (a buy/sell website). This baby is 1979 edition in PRISTINE shape. I'll post a pic. Got it for $500 which is a pretty good deal. The guy even let me take it to a gig to try out and yes its is just what I was looking for to replace my old workhorse that was put to pasture.
You may recall that I sent another Pacemaker to the Mothership and it was totally re-done with Op-pro studio pick-up, new bowl, and new top. Well , as spectacular as this guitar looks and sounds, I'm finding the neck just doesn't fit my hand like my old O. Its a real dilema, cause I love the refurbished guitar , but I find the slightly different neck on my purchase today more comfortable. The refurbished neck is slightly "thinner" I didn't know there was different neck sizings.
Anyone familiar with the fact that neck diameters can vary?
So here I sit with 2 Pacemakers, one I love the neck and the other I love the brand new top, bowl and pre-amp.
Any one know how big a deal it is to swap necks?
Maybe I'll just keep both! |

You might end-up with None!
A new neck is around $450 at the Mothership, maybe less. |

Location: Utah | How about having the Mother Ship reshape the neck? The neck is sanded into shape to begin with, so maybe they could just reshape it to your preferred contour? It wouldn't take their craftsmen more than a few minutes on the sanding machine to reshape it, then it would need a refinish. Seems like it might not be very expensive at all. |

| Didn't know about re-shaping the neck, but its a little too thin for my liking to begin with. I'm just talking subleties here, but it just feels slightly different than what I'm used to. Sanding it would just make it smaller. Probably be perfect for someone with smaller hands than mine, or someone that has a different grip than me.
Maybe I'll post it on the for sale section soon! |

| Yeah, the nut widths are the same, but the diameter of the neck is about 1/4 inch smaller on the refurbished one. |

Location: Nashville TN. | Play them long enough and you will get used to it.
Plus for extended play haveing two different neck profiles will keep your hand from cramping. |

Location: ranson,wva | the profile is different. i had a folklore and a country artist,both 1 7/8 at the nut and about 25 years apart in age but the C/A neck felt too chunky for me. the older one has a more flatter profile.....juts my 2 cents...ya guys know im a wide neck fan :P |
