At the risk of perpetuating ignorant speculation, that quote is ignorant speculation. As Al said in another thread, production of the entry-level models is moving to Korea, NOT China. I doubt very much that anyone on the Tacoma board has any information closer to "inside" than does a long-time Kaman dealer.

China...Korea...who cares. The point is more "outsourcing" "off-shore" "Pacific Rim Subsidiaries" and other euphemisms for lost USA jobs.

I heard from an "inside sourse" that there was a plan. It's a secret plan so they didn't tell me what it was but I think it has to do with moving all production to South America.

to be honest, i don't really understand why companies move their production to those countries in times where US economy needs support & dollar is weakest ever, so importing goods from US is very profitable... for both parties

A - Money/equity has no nationality and requires no passport.

B - "A rising tide lifts all boats." Helping to raise the standard-of-living around the world can only bring long-term benefits. (only two things will cause misery in particular individual lives; change and lack of change.)

Offshore, onshore to another shore. Another day in the sun or another day in the rain music is going to be played. Money is going to be made, money is going to be delayed. Sounds from a round back sound from a flat back sounds from wood, some capacitor's and hardware and all from wire strings. A guitar in hand is worth more than were it came from. I'll stick with made in the USA because I am an American, or I'll build my own.

I would have to think Beal would know more than others would if there was a secret plan of any type. If they move production, they would loose most of the older (read current) faithful, but would probably generate a new clientèle with lower prices. I would think there are much smarter(?) minds driving these decisions than I possess. We can only react to what they do, not control it. Keep your "pre Fender" models, and we'll have a reunion in 10 years.

I heard from that Legend, Elite, Custom Legend,
Custom Elite, Collectors series and Adamas will be be still be made in New Hartford.
The instruments with higher profit margins.
High end Guilds will start production in June.
In New Hartford there no job lose.
The work force will add a few people.
Basically the mothership will be making world class pro instruments.
