What are you guys who have web sites for your acts doing for web hosting? Many musicians I've asked have friends who have taken care of this for them, but I don't have that luxury and simply want to do it the old fashioned way.

I need a page that would contain our picture, give booking information and allow access to our demo.

Wide open to suggestions, thanks in advance.

I did it thru Yahoo.
I think it's costing me $12/mo. and their software is fairly intuitive . . .

i do make and host some sites for my friends who have bands, or do other artistic work (tattoo, photographies) and i usualy do it on Joomla engine (it's free content menagement system) and i just prepare template for them, or use existing if they like some, and prepare modules which work as a photo / media gallery, guestbook, etc.
It's good fot them because they get easy access to content on page, they can see page statistics etc.
Search for someone in your neighboorhood who does the same. At the moment you don't need super-professional webpage, but one that looks like crap won't help for sure.

We have a regular web-site as well as our myspace site, we get more hits on the myspace site and its free so you might want to try it.

Yeah, Myspace is pretty OK for everything from beginner band to top pros. You may want to have someone with a bit of html knowledge spiff up the look of the page. It is very easy if you know a few simple commands. My 15 yr old built her band page and the church band page (which isn't complete yet).

Myspace is especially good from the standpoint that A) it's free!, and B) people network with it, so you get a lot of free exposure.
