Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | Don't laugh. One of my ex's actually DID get me a vacuum cleaner for my birthday once. This is the same guy who stopped at the hardware store and got me a gooseneck desk lamp for Christmas when we were on the way to my family's house on Christmas eve. In seven years of marriage, these were the only two gifts he ever got me. Oh well... |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Hey! I got my Mom a Vacuum Cleaner for Christmas!
And an 'assisted opening pocketknife' (switchblade) for her Birthday!
She likes them both and actually uses them.

Location: Boise, Idaho | I committed the ultimate sin. I never thought to get my wife anything on her first mothers day a couple weeks after our oldest was born. Even worse, I was travelling and the airline fed us a special meal on Mothers' Day, which how I found out about it. So when I talked to my wife on the phone I asked her if she got anything for my Mom. She cried for days and told everyone about it for years. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | It is amazing that she puts up with me. I have no memory of the event. I just remember hearing her tell the story for years. Oblivious should be my middle name..
The story has been replaced with stories of "another guitar." |
