Location: UK | OK, I have a few Ovations/Adamas and I picked this greenburst (?) up a few months back for not much money. I've not really paid much attention to it but it has a lovely tone and I just tried to make sure what it was. I bought it as an Ultra Deluxe. But the serial number is 67240 which is too early to be an Ultra. It has a urethane neck but inlaid fret markers which I didn't think they did on the Ultra.
It's not a big deal and it's a fun guitar but any input much appreciated.

I don't know how to embed images on this site so had to have photobucket links. |

If it is made overseas, the serial number is Meaningless.
I also think that that color is called 'Barn Board'.
And it has a Rosewood fretboard... look at 1517 |

Location: UK | Thanks Arthur that looks like it - I always assumed it was overseas made, as I thought all the Ultras were Korean or somewhere in the Far East. It's clearly "road-worn" (in the current Fender vernacular!) and surprisingly tuneful, I'm actually very pleased with it, it's the only deep bowl I have. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I had an Ultra 1312, which is a fake Balladeer.
Yes, it had a laminated top, but it was a nice sounding deep bowl.
Even though it was quite old when I got it, it had no cracks or none of that crap.
The 'heel block' on the base of the neck had cracked along the glue line,
but it was repaired when I got it.
I got it for $188.88 and it sounded nice.
I remember the price cuz I sold it forward for $188.88.
The new owner was quite pleased when he got it too.
So everyone was happy.
But yeah... Old Ultra's may be imports, but if they sound nice Who Cares!? |
