Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | As mentioned in the post about the shipping carton's near destruction, the 1758-5 is here and it is a beauty...This guitar is as close to mint as any I have ever seen...just a few minor pick marks under the treble Epi...thats it!
I tuned it up (it shipped with a brand new set of strings) and it plays like a dream...two shims were in a pouch in the case pocket along with the 9-volt in a bubble wrap bag. I then polished the guitar lightly and headed outside where, of course, there was no sun today for pic's...but I took three or four anyway...The guitar sounds like angels singing and the case is in 9.5 out of 10 condition as well...
All in all, a pristene 12 string that will get a lot of play time...
Thanks again to James for the great packing job that saved the guitar...

Thanks for the good wishes and remarks folks...
Iffy: "Last" is a relative term...lol
JonMark: presently, 9...
Woody: One of my Apple trees...TBH, I'm not sure of the variety...but they make great pies...
Anita: as soon as I got it tuned I played it for the Missus...Honestly, I got her approval before I pulled the trigger on the auction...it just works better that way around our house...and it's a one in/one out rule for now...
I played the -5 for most of the evening...these (1758's) are truly one if the best 12's ever made...no doubt about it...when it comes to 12 strings, Ovation and Adamas leave the others in the dust...
As soon as we get some nice sunny weather, I'll take a group picture of the 12's collection and post it...
I've been playing 12's since 1965 and O 12's since 1973...I just love 'em. |
