Location: New Hampsha | Anyone have a picture of an Adamas with a Cedro Macho neck?
WADR, I suspect the picture that's on the Adamas custom page showing off the hardware is Cedro, and not walnut as everyone seemed to think in my other post. I think there's too much variation in the grain and color to be walnut.
Can we get a picture of a Cedro neck to conclusively prove/disprove that? |

| No Mitzdawg, I know for sure it is an Adamas 2080 _walnut_ neck.
The finish is polyurethane and it looks quite shiny under photographic lights as it was buffed up and probably color enhanced to bring up the grain. It doesn't look much different in person tho.
How would I know that? Well, here's the story, 3 years back I've ordered a 2080 and after a 8 month wait I got a guitar with a really bad neck finish, orange peel over sprayed feel, vaxy, powdery look.
I requested a return and 4 months later this particular one showed up! Discovered it when browsing new custom Adamas pages, same grain pattern, checked the serial number, yup!
So I have a guitar they used for web catalog shoot. I assume the production at the time was so slow they didn't have any other to ship.
Greets, from a new member!

Are you sure they sent you back a walnut neck and didn't send a Cedro neck as an upgrade/apology?
Can we get a picture of a verified Cedro neck to compare one? |

| Thanks for the welcome Moody.
Mitzdawg, I don't think I've ever seen a Cedro neck, why is it considered an upgrade/superior to walnut?

Location: New Hampsha | The Adamas site lists a cedro neck as a possible alternative for custom building your own Adamas. Since none of the stock models use the Cedro neck, and since I've never seen or heard of one either, I "assume" it was an upgrade. Pictures of cedro on other sites show a wood that has nice color variations in the grain. Walnut does not typically show koa-like color streaks, so I again make the "assumption" that the back of the pegface in the picture is cedro.
I'd like someone who bought a cedro neck to show it off so we can all see what it looks like! |

| Here is the pic of the neck I took today. Posting for the first time so hope it works.
The paper I'm holding is white and the photo is white corrected for the neutral color tone.
Does it still look like it is not walnut?
