| I looked inside the sound hole for the tress rod adjustment screw and didn't find it, all I see is aluminum. is this right? It has a rosewood fret board and a bolt on neck (two bolts) |

Location: When?? | Not so sure about the '80-'81 1639 Special, but I have an '81 Custom Balladeer bolt-on that has the truss rod adjustment end hidden completely out of sight directly behind a length of bracing that runs across just inside the sound hole. There's a small pilot hole in the bracing for the wrench to guide through. Does yours perhaps have that same configuration??

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | The 1639 is a Matrix, so it has an aluminum neck, but also has a rosewood fretboard, so it can be refretted. No trussrod. Just gave mine to a worthy party, in need of a good instrument. |
