when I change the strings on my 06C I there is a smallish crack noise when I loosen or tension the strings. It sounds it coming from the neck/body joint. All looks OK on the top and from inside but should I worry/do something about it.
It's done it since I've had it and doesn't seem to be getting worse (as far as I can tell). |

| You're sure it's not coming from the nut? If so, a little graphite (pencil lead) in the nut slots will let the strings glide w/o catching. If the sound really is from the neck/body joint I'd worry. |

If the 'crack/pop' is consistent, place one end of a wooden dowel against you ear and the other end on different parts on the guitar and duplicate the action. You should be able to locate the 'offender'.
Good luck... |

Does it happen to particular strings?
Did you try the graphite? |

Location: Upper Left USA | I have been alarmed and then let it go - the LX necks are very light and I have heard sounds from either the dual truss rods or the bolt on joint.
Not a problem but noticeable. |
