Location: Sacramento | Yes, I'm out to sell a few guitars, but as always, I've come across something interesting. 1990 Legend 1886 12 string, sunburst finish. Seemed pretty nice on first blush. Can anyone give me some info on this model?
Thanks,

I have a MERB 12-er that I like a lot, but that's an Adamas.
And, if I recall correctly, YOU sold me the Glen Campbell 12-string, no? I like that one a lot too.
I can certainly tell you that this group thinks highly of Legends in general, though, as with everything, there are nuances and differences of opinion within that generally favorable opinion.
This response will kick this thread back up top for others to take another look. You should get MUCH more knowledgeable assessments than mine pretty quickly.
Good luck!

Terry, go HERE for the official info. I'm not a fan of SSBs acoustically , but plugged in it should be awesome.
You can also search this site for that model number and see if anyone has posted their impressions.
Hopefully you'll get more info from those that owns or has owned one. |

Location: Corning, NY | sorry this one slipped by me, too. I found the 1866 plays great, but I don't like the super shallow bowl either, because the unplugged sound is so thin compared to a deep bowl. My 1756 Legend --for sale, by the way ;) -- has a deep bowl and no cutaway. I don't know how much the cutaway affects it, but the deep bowl really booms compared to the ssb.
Mine is rebuilt with the scalloped x-bracing, which improves the sound, in my opinion, so if you are looking for new, you might check out the LX models. |

The New Hartford build quality is all there. Just about any Legend is a well-crafted American guitar. If you like it, and the price is good for you, have at it! |
