For coated strings
They also recomend Adamas 1818 and uncoated string.
Personally I think the adamas sounds far better.

Can you briefly say why you like them better, i.e to your ears what is the most characteristic difference vs. the EXP's and on what guitar do you use them? Thanks.

I just thought that I would add to this...

I put some EXP16's on the K-1111 last night.
Having been prejudiced by comments about how EXP's sound dead outta the box, I was surprised.
First I wanna say that with every new Ovation that I got fresh from the factory I have had to change the strings.
I got these EXP's on a two-fer sale from Sweetwater...

I put the EXP's on The Balladeer and they Shimmer!

They do not sound 'higher', like when you put on lighter gauge strings... The Low-E still goes "dung"! :p
But they sound great.

Disclaimer: This does not mean that they will sound great in every application.
But I wish that I had bought more of them for the K-1111!

EXP16s are my go to sets. In fact, I'm in the process of putting a set on the '06 Koa for the Samba gathering this Sat.

I've had several original sets from the fac that had to be replaced due to spot corrosion.

Granted, I haven't tried all the possibilities, but the EXP16s work for most of my apps. I have used Elixer 80/20 nanos with good success also.

+1 on the Elixer 80/20 nanos

I love the way they feel and sound.
