It seems to me that there were quite a few guitarists that had tuners on their headstocks that had a green LED readout. I am pretty sure I remember Steve and Davis having one and I am pretty sure a few other Florida residents did also.

What was the brand/model of these? They seem really easy to read and I assume they were accurate.

I've got that exact same tuner but it has a different name. Mine is called a "PlayOne PL-900". Looks to be identical to the Intelli except for the name. I got it a couple years ago but was never impressed with the sensitivity. Always ended up clipping it on the soundhole or laying it on the guitar top to get it to work. It particularly didn't like the A string.
Since then picked up a Seiko STX1. It has a mic function that works when the vibration sensor is having trouble picking up. Not as pretty but I've found it to be friendlier to use. Maybe they've improved things when the PL-900 changed to the Intelli?

Yeah, they're great, but they don't last if you run them thru the washer.....

I use one all the time. Warning does not fit an Ovation 12 headstock all that well.

I clip mine on right by the bass E string. The E and A strings need to be tuned by the 12th fret harmonic, but I have no problem with that at all...

Since both my 12s are now slotheads, I don't think it will be a problem.

Dang!!!
It never even occured to me to try the harmonic. After reading the above I gave the tuner another chance. Clipped it on the high side of the 1768 headstock. Open A wouldn't even register, just like always. :( Touched the 12th fret harmonic and the tuner latched on like it was never gonna let go.

I love this place. And I'm lovin' this tuner now, too! :D

Thanks for a great tip, Moody!
