Joined: August 2007 Posts: 1008 Location: Tuscany, Italy | Yesterday was a perfect day. First I got back safely from MS my beloved deluxe balladeer after some months of vacation in New Hartford. What a pleasant surprise !! The guitar was in need of a neck reset and a deep cleanning of both top and bowl. It was kept bad in its previous life and riched me in such a condition I was forced to let MS work its magic on it. They rescued to life this wonderful guitar. I was sooooo surprised about how it sound. THAT's what I expected from a deluxe balladeer made in 1967. The real beginning of the O'story and the sound and tone that at Ovation searched for years becaming the progenitor of all the guitars to come. I'm really happy to be the owner of such a piece of history and I LOVE to play and hear the "voice" of this guitar. I'll always keep her along with me to let friends and other musicians "understand" what the "O signature sound" IS. Am I an Ovation fan ?    As you see, the bridge has been relocated as I was told by MS the original one was mounted in a wrong position. It's a matter of fact that a "shadow" is now visible in the place of the original bridge. This has been sligtly stained and I hope it should recover with the exposition to the sunlite and normal use and ageing. Any thought ? I don't care about that, as I remeber how the guitar looked before the MS treatment. It's something to remind me that this is a 42 year old guitar. What I mind is the sound and playability of the guitar that are abolutely fantastic !!! Second thing. To celebrate the return home of the no.345, in the evening we (SWMBO and me) were at Lucca summer festival to attend the concert of Mr. James Taylor. What a fantastic experience !! 2 hours concert that captured the audience and passed by too quickly. BTW nearly half of the spectators were from the US. I was also able to grant me an autograph of Mr. Taylor. What a nite !!!  More pics to come and few added right now on the ning site. Riccardo | ||
