Last weekend on the way to vacation at Lake Tahoe stopped off in Las Vegas and caught the Keith Urban concert. Awesome show, he really was on his game and played a huge variety of stuff. Something for everyone. Glen Campbell was the warm up act. Glen also put on a good show (about 8 songs) but was pretty much on auto-pilot. Not much guitar work, but the crowd still dug it. Glen did a couple of numbers with Keith which was actually the highlight of the show if you ask me. Here's a youtube clip ...

Also saw the Cirque de Sol LOVE show which was just amazing. Total remake of Beatles tunes by George Martrins son and of course the show is just out of this world. Also a must see if you're ever in Vegas.

Since it's a Gibson, and Keith's a G guy, my guess is it was a Urban tour guitar.
Glen did have a nice sounding Legend on the show with Chris Isaak earlier this year.

Glen has survived well I think. He obviously still loves doing it, and can. Many of his peers have long since stopped playing. It was great to see his his kids playing with him on the Isaak show. One playing and Elite LX. His son Cal is also playing with Jimmy Webb and his sons... with a new CD and tour. Very cool mix of nostalgia and tat's.

+2 on Jm's comments.

The Legend Glen was playing on the Chris Isaak show was an early 1980's Custom Legend that he's had and played for years. It had a GREAT sound to it (well, to be fair, Glen could make anything sound great). Also, the son who played with Glen on that show has played with him in several tv shows that I've seen. He's always playing one of Glen's old Ovations. I've seen him with the CL, a Legend, the Elite, and one of Glen's Vipers.

Obviously a family Ovation player. Never have to buy one when you have so many around the house....

Great clip, what the heck is glen doing with his capo? Is he using it to change keys or just trying to get in sync? Anyway it seems kind of impromtu and that itself makes it special.

Glen wasn't the headliner so didn't bring a lot of gear. They just drove up in two vans from Phoenix. I didn't keep track exactly, but he did about 8 songs - played his baby blue strat on about 5 of them and played one of Keiths Gibsons on one. A couple of songs he just sang.
