I only play open chords, so I only need the first 6 frets. :p

Don't you mean "6 or 12 String" or "12 fret to body or 14"?

I am buying a new adamas and I am buying a 12 fretter, which has 6 strings. Having said that, I already own a 14 fretter, which is not going anywhere.

Try if you can before you buy.

14 fret, preferably cutaway; need the extras for some of my chord stuff.

Fretless.

Would open up a whole new world of dissonance for me. ;-)

There is a one off 12-string fretless Adamas that I had the honor (horror) to play. Mere words can not do justice to the lasting impression this lft on me.

12 string, 12 fret cutaway would do me just fine.

I'm thinking a 12-string version of the OFC II 2080 with an iDea preamp would be pretty cool

Just thought I might add...

I bought my 1681 cuz everybody needs an Adamas.
I thought that I would keep it for Special Occasions. Y'know, keep it pristine.
Right now it is sitting at my right hand and spends much more time outta the case than in it.
I haven't taken it outside, but the 07C ain't left the building either.
But the Adamas is my 'go to' guitar, it is usually out for noodlin' and droolin'...

Just thought that I would share that! :D

I'd buy a 6 string 2080 from Al with the iDea if I could afford it and had the time to play it. The '07C doesn't get enough play time as it is, so there just isn't the justification to buy another guitar.

OMA, one of the things I love about Adamii is that they are tough. If you could remove the cost factor from your mind, they are the ultimate beach guitar (along with the CA I suppose). My 08C gets dragged everywhere with me, except when space is a consideration and I take the Traveler.

Isn't that odd?
Can't think of example from other "top of the line" guitars.
The UTE would be the right choice for something like the beach but that's what I bought the EliteT for.

What??!! Sounds like it's time to start another thread adding to my list of justifications for another guitar. The Ute was supposed to be the last guitar I needed. That was 10 or 12 ago.
Actually, I'm maxed out. Except for.....
