Iffy, Ali;
The guitar is anywhere from 10-15 miles from me, depending on where in the township it is.
I'm willing to check it out, but have absolutely no idea as to the protocol involved (I only buy my gits through here and Al, thanks to a really bad eBay experience.)
Let me know how I can best help.

I just had this experience with a Folklore in Chino Hills, Ca. Local p/u only and no case. I sniped it off of ebay at the last minute for $100.99. Then Paul Moody (thanks again, Paul!) picked it up for me. I'll send Paul a check for the cost of shipping the guitar to me.
The internet is such a great networking tool!

Update: Well, Karen was kind enough to go check out this guitar for me. She liked it so she bought it for me and I have sent her a check for the price plus shipping. Well, Karen got to playing with the Pacemaker and fell in love with it. It fits her better than her Elite twelve string and she loves the tone. Long story short: she is keeping the Pacemaker and sending me her Elite instead for the same price. I love the way this worked out. I originally bought the Pacemaker to hang on the wall in the shop. (I am a fingerpicker and so I don't really want a twelver for myself.) I can probably get more money for the Elite so it is a good deal for me. And Karen now has a twelve-string that is more comfortable for her to play so it is a good deal for her. Everybody's happy. Great happenings here on the OFC. Thanks Karen! And thanks Al and Miles for making this all possible!

What a great story and a great ending. I love my pacemaker and it is a pleasure to play.

Whoa! Karen kept the PM?!?!? That's awesome...

Can hardly wait for her report (plus the '97C) and how her shoulder is coping with the BOOMER.

These 'transactions' are really getting entertaining. Don'tcha just love it...

This is what happens when there isn't anything good to watch on the ol' tube.
I like the Pacemaker because it doesn't have the clunky K-bar neck; it fits my hand better when I wrap my thumb around the neck, and it's much lighter, too, because the neck is shorter and bar-less. The downside to it is that it needs restringing and a good "bath." It just reminds so much of Gertrude in so many ways that I really didn't want to let it go, and Ali is gracious enough to humor me.
As for the shoulder (and the wrist, and the elbow), as long as I play in disciplined shorter doses I'm o.k.; I just have to be good, that's all. And if I forget, well, there's always ibuprophen.......
"Good night, John Boy;" "Good night, Elizabeth;" "Good night, Mama." This family is just great!

Not to worry--there's more than one kind of Elite, and the one that's going to Ali is the 1758, the Elite 12-string. (Somewhere there's a post about how all that came to be... )
Jewel is part of "The First Triumvate;" those three from whom I won't be parted: Gertrude, Jewel and Jazzey (the Tornado.) I guess that the Princess is another one, so I'll always have four in the stable. (But what a great foursome they are...)
