What happened to all the rude people in NJ? A whole week went by with nary an offensive hand gesture or comment. Even the rental car people were polite and helpful. Nobody heckled us for bringing the Dunkin' Donuts to a standstill while we all ordered way too many donuts and too much coffee at rush hour Saturday morning.

We all came home this year from one week at the shore saying we're going back for two weeks next summer. Great food, great beach, great town. It'd be a great place for a summer OFC jam.

The girls brought guitars and Rob brought his mandolin. They turned main street into an evening teens/twenty music fest. The girls played one evening and made some friends who play and sing. The next night another guitar player showed up. Then the next night a couple more showed up. By Friday it was a music fest that drew a good crowd and lots of applause.

Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the other participants, but here are a few before the others showed up.

Here's a little indoor concert for the grandparents including fingerstyle mandolin. The pick is parked in a creative location.

Non-music activities included the obligatory breakfast crumb cake, lots of food at every meal, indoor aviation, mini-golf, and a full moon rising over the water.

Wish I coulda been there for it, but there was no way to come east twice in a few weeks.

Sounds like a great time and great pic's: thanks for sharing your vacation with us...congrats girls on sharing the music...

In '72, while stationed at the former Glynco Navel Air Station in Brunswick GA, I used to go on weekend nights in the fall to the fishing pier on St. Simmons Island Ga. and play my acoustic and sing...by the 2nd weekend, the crowd grew to fill the entire pier and folks were singing and dancing and we had a fabulous time...we had a fantastic several months of music at the pier and everyone made this Marine feel right at home...

Things like that and this you never forget...

FlySig,

Now that's absolutely awesome! Love of music, at both ends and in between, means grand times and fond everlasting memories.

Thanx for sharing!

Love the Mythbusters t-shirt. One of the few shows I actually buy the DVD's for.

Looks like a very cool time Fly!
Wish I had the "gut" to just sit out on the side of a street and play! :)
